Pitched Roofs

Installers of Quality Pitched Roofs

Our team of experienced professionals offer installation and repair services.

Pitched roofs are popular options for many types of buildings, particularly houses. The top of the roof forms a central ridge, with each side of it sloping downwards. Roofs are generally regarded as ‘pitched’ when they are measured higher than 10°. The ‘pitch’ is calculated by dividing its vertical rise by the horizontal span and measure of its steepness.

Here at Moss End Roofing, we have a team of roofers that can install a brand new pitched roof on your property or enhance your current system. If you are unsure of what type of pitched roof to select, our professionals can advise on options that are both structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing. Pitched roofs contain the following benefits:

  • Cost-Effective
  • Long-Lasting
  • Durable
  • Sustainable
  • Weather Resistant

Mono Pitch Roof

A mono pitch roof slopes from one side of a building to the other. It is typically made up of a number of rafters that are fixed to walls at each end of the roof span. Generally, these roofs are installed as part of house extensions.

Collar Roof

Rooms can be partly constructed within the space of a collar roof due to the ceiling joists being raised higher than the bottom of the rafters.

Couple Roof

This is widely regarded as a simple option as the roof has two lengths of rafters that lean against one another. They are tied at the top.

Closed Couple Roof

By adding a length of timber between the rafter feet within the structure of a couple roof, it will become much stronger and secure. The roof span could increase as a result of the ceiling joists being installed.

Purlin Roof

To give rafters additional support and to enhance roof span without affecting the stability of your walls, purlins can be installed. This means that you will not need to increase the size of the rafters.
